2019 Top Kitchen Trends

It’s the beginning of a brand-new year, and with that comes exciting kitchen trends and products. Because the kitchen is one of the most-used rooms in the home, the space should have elements that excite you, but also simplify the necessary work. How do the 2019 trends meet these goals? Let’s find out!

Color of the Year
First of all, we can’t discuss 2019 trends without mentioning the color of the year, Living Coral. Pantone chose this color which “embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment,” perfectly describing how many people feel about their kitchen. Last year’s color (Ultra Violet) encouraged us to push boundaries, while this year is about “playful expression.”
Of course, the easiest way to incorporate the Color of the Year is through accent pieces, like chairs at your kitchen island or a rug in the dining room. With a neutral backdrop of stone countertops or tiling, the coral-colored elements can pop. Another option for bringing this warm natural color would be through simply painting an accent wall.

Statement Sinks
Having a deep sink has always been desired in a kitchen remodel, but a custom soapstone or slate stone sink makes a statement beyond pure practicality.
Because soapstone or slate can be customized to the exact size you need for your kitchen, either by dimensions or even drain placement, you can design and install the perfect piece for your kitchen. The subtle veining of soapstone (you can decide how much you want during the design process) or color options of slate makes the sink even more unique and appealing. Homeowners also love non-porous, anti-bacterial nature of soapstone or slate we have mentioned before on the blog.

Slate
Like soapstone, slate is a non-porous, heat-resistant stone that works great for kitchen counters and sinks. While there are many reasons to love slate as part of recent kitchen trends, we love the many different color options and textures of each stone.
This stone rates higher than soapstone on the Mohs Scale, meaning it is extremely durable and more resistant to scratches. This high-quality stone adds instant value to a kitchen or bathroom and will remain in the home for years to come.

Raw Materials & Textures
Over the past few years, texture has become one of the most fun aspects of kitchen design. With opportunities to mix wood on one surface and stone on another, you not only add interest to your space but also incorporate timeless design features into your kitchen.
Using raw materials and natural stone give a room a classic feel because of their primarily traditional design aesthetic. Even though we’ve listed this as a trend for 2019, these characteristics will stand the test of time.

Neutral Counter Colors
While a dramatic countertop definitely makes a statement in your kitchen, with neutral stone counters, you’ll have the opportunity to play with drama in a backsplash or cabinet color. These neutral counters also make an excellent backdrop for those Instagram and food blog photos while you’re baking!

How do I incorporate these trends into my kitchen?
Above all, the top challenge with kitchen trends comes with the investment. Because a kitchen remodel is an expensive adventure, you’re probably looking for timeless over trendy. However, many of these looks are here to stay, such as returning to raw materials and nature, while others are even practical, like a custom statement
