Whether or not you’re traveling for the holidays, send handmade, locally sourced, sustainable gifts to your friends and family this year! These also make great hostess gifts if you are attending a holiday party in person.

Pizza Stones

Serve the crispiest and tastiest pizzas from your own oven or your grill during the summer with our pizza stones! Choose from two thicknesses and several diameters, or order a custom size to encourage families to start traditions like Friday Pizza Night every week. Pair it with your favorite pizza dough recipe (or print a highly rated recipe online), and you’ll be giving a thoughtful but also useful gift this season.

Don’t forget these pizza stones are extremely versatile for cooking food other than pizza! Vegetables and meats also work better on the grill when you add a soapstone pizza stone.

Cookware

Historically, Native Americans used soapstone for bowls and cookware. Today, we love the naturally food-safe, non-porous material for its heat-retention and beautiful texture.

Griddle

Our soapstone griddles with brass accents are custom orders but make a striking impression in the kitchen. Not to mention, the heat radiating properties of soapstone make it an ideal tool for morning breakfast on the stovetop. Again, you’ll want to include a favorite recipe for pancakes (or a favorite pancake mix) to add another personal touch.

Slate Cheese Boards

You can never have too many cheese platters, and no hostess will have one in slate. If you have a friend who loves to entertain (or enjoys a variety of cheeses on their own at home), they need a handcrafted cheese platter to complete their serving collection. Because slate is naturally anti-bacterial and non-porous, clean-up is easy, and the flavor of the cheese is unaffected by the stone or platter.

Our “Original Vermont Slate” cheeseboards come beautifully packaged in burlap and include two soapstone “chalk” pieces.

Teak Wood

Each piece of teak wood has a unique shape and pattern. Our wood comes from Costa Rica, then we craft and finish the pieces in the United States. We only source from a FSC-certified supplier who follows proper reforestation principles, further promoting our sustainability goals.

Coasters

A smaller but unique gift, teak wood coasters are the perfect gift for any new homeowner or as a stocking stuffer for your adult children. Because they’re made of teak wood, these coasts are naturally water-resistant. Not only will tabletops stay beautiful, but the coasters will also stand the test of time.

We also make coasters in slate and soapstone for a variety of textures and colors.

Serving Boards

The teak or mango wood serving boards from Garden State Soapstone aren’t just standard cheese platters: available in lengths from 3 feet to 7 feet, they become the centerpiece of an appetizer station and add a sense of elegance and abundance to any event. You might want to gift one to yourself instead!

Soapstone Rocks

Also known as “whiskey rocks,” soapstone rocks can serve as non-melting ice cubes or retain heat to revive a too-cold coffee. Soapstone naturally retains temperature better, whether hot or cold, making it the perfect addition to any bar cart.
